For my A2 coursework I will be creating a film trailer, advertisement and a magazine cover. The genre I will be focusing on is 'horror'. In order to broaden my understanding of this genre I will be researching other excisting products relating to this genre. This will help me to have a clear understanding of what I need to include in my own media products.

Location Recces
Something we will be focusing on whilst making our film opening is HEALTH AND SAFETY.
This depends on where where shooting our scenes, the surroundings and dangerous issues in the area we are filming.
Cars/Traffic- We will deal with these occurrences by being extra careful whilst filming around them. However, most of the places we have chosen to film aren't popular places where many cars pass.
Wires/extension leads- These will be securely cello taped to the ground with black tape. This way accidents can be easily avoided and it will be visibly clear where the wires have been placed whilst filming.
Neighbours/people around us- To avoid any interferences with neighbours, if filming next door we will make sure to advice them of our situation. As for other people, we will mark off our area clearly therefore no one should interfere with our filming.
Tripods- If using tripods we will make sure they are securely stable whenever they are in use to avoid any filming accidents.
Animals- If animals, such as dogs are in our area we will make sure to stop filming immediately if it wasn't with it's owner on a lead. However, otherwise our filming space would be carefully sectioned off therefore people would know to walk around our area or work
We have chosen to film in London Conley. It's a big village with many open spaces such as parks, big drive ways, quiet streets, the high street (buses, people, shops and noise) and there are many alleyways we can also film some optional scenes in.

Music
Music is Iconic in every film, and some would say its the most important aspect of a horror film. The reason why music is so important in a horror is because the plot is not supposed to be predictable, it's an intellectual mind puzzle wanting the audience to find out what will happen. Music in a horror can make you jump, make you feel tense, weary, worried, scared & uneasy.
Stringed instruments are iconic in horror films and have been used for many years in order to create a sense of fear and suspense. The use of high pitched piano keys are a common and good way to create tension for the audience. However silence is also used a lot in order to slowly build up the music which is to come, waiting for any kind of action or the climax of the film to happen.
This piece of music is a mixture of creepy, mysterious and uneasy sounds we will be using.
Violins(string) High pitched & almost mocking. Chase scenes.

Shooting Schedule
Media shooting schedule
By making a shooting schedule it has helped us use our organisational skills to make a good product effectively. Our brief notes have helped us achieve deadlines, knowing exactly what shots we are shooting and the equipment we will need.

Character profiles
Rachael
Blonde highlighted hair, blue eyes & 18 years old.
Rachael is an outgoing, loud girl who goes out almost every weekend. Usually gets drunk and is hung-over every Sunday. Misses school a lot in which she gets in trouble for however she doesn’t care.
We want Rachael to reflect a conventional ‘bad’ British teenager. Smoking, drinking and getting into trouble. She’s confident and doesn’t care what people think of her, in a way she comes across rude and intimidating and although everyone wants to be ‘friends’ with her, they also want to stay away.
Her relationship with her parents isn’t ideal; she answers back and often ignores their rules completely.
Costume
In most of our scenes she will be dressed in a leopard print short dress from a party the night before. On her feet she is going to be wearing high red heels.
Both of these pieces of ‘costume’ reflect her fiery character.

Gretel
Gretel is our 'Villan' In our film. She has long black hair, pasty dead white skin & hazel eyes.
Gretel died in 1666 in the great fire of london. She was only 18 years old and ever since her body has been wondering through the old london hospitals searching for a motive, she is a lost & angry soul. A mute, and difficult to understand but even harder to get away from. She is out to haunt anyone she is envious of..Racheal
Gretel will be wearing a white night gown, not only to represent an contrasting 'purity' of her character but also to represent the last piece of clothing she was in when she died. She will be filmed with bare feet and matted hair covering most of her face.

December to do list.

Keeping Calendars such as this one helps us achieve and keep in account what we have done and what there is to be done in order to complete all parts of our coursework. By setting dates for when we want our work completed helps us to be organized and to have good time management which is key when creating a media product.
